Seawater Reverse Osmosis Plant

Challenging feed water was causing the client’s existing RO system to fail, causing significant downtime of the system which supplies essential drinking water. We designed and implemented a replacement system within a tight timeframe to provide a sustainable solution to reliably supply this essential service.

Project Summary

  • Fully containerised pre-treatment and SWRO modules in 2 x 40’ containers
  • In-house bench testing of feed water to determine effective pre-treatment
  • Plant uses high quality components to mitigate the long term corrosive effects of exposure to sea water
  • Energy recovery cuts power consumption by 50%, providing cost effective water in an environment where power is generated from costly imported diesel

Project Specifics

  • Location: Papua New Guinea area
  • Total System Capacity: 800,000 litres/day
  • Feed Water quality: seawater
  • Recovery : 45%
